ABOUT & RULES
Everything you need to know before unleashing your bizarre brilliance on Las Vegas.
WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?
The World's Best Bizarre Band Competition was born from a simple belief: the world has enough normal music. We wanted to create a stage for the weird, the wonderful, and the wonderfully weird.
Every year, Las Vegas — a city that has never once been accused of being boring — plays host to the most gloriously strange collection of musical acts ever assembled under one roof. Kazoo orchestras, theremin duets, bands that perform exclusively in scuba gear, one-man-bands powered by rubber chickens: all are welcome here.
We don't care if you can't read music. We don't care if your instrument was invented last Tuesday. We care about TWO THINGS: How magnificently bizarre you are and wonderful you sound at being magnificently bizarre (just sound good)!
HOW YOU'LL BE JUDGED
Our team will review your performance submissions based on overall bizarreness, originality, musical talent, commitment to the concept, and sheer entertainment value. We're looking for performers who make us laugh, stare, listen—and wonder what on Earth we just witnessed. We'll narrow down the online submissions to the top 12 most wonderfully bizarre acts.
The top 12 Acts will perform live at the finals, in LAS VEGAS on April 17th & 18th, 2027. Finalists will be announced on January 19, 2027
BIZARRENESS - 30 PTS
How weird is it, really? On a scale from 'slightly unusual' to 'what did I just witness', where do you land? Points awarded for genuine originality and head-scratching strangeness.
COMMITMENT & MUSICAL TALENT - 30 PTS
Are you fully committed? Half-hearted weirdness is the only thing we penalize. We're looking for total, unhinged dedication to your bizarre vision—combined with standout musicianship on the instruments of your choice—to create the perfect recipe for wonderfully bizarre music.
CROWD REACTION - 20 PTS
Did the audience laugh, gasp, cheer, or question their own sanity? All of the above earns maximum points. Polite applause is a red flag.
ORIGINALITY - 20 PTS
We've seen a lot of weird. Surprise us. Bonus points for instruments that don't exist in any orchestra, sounds that have no name, and concepts that defy explanation
THE OFFICIAL RULES
We kept them short. Weird people don't like long rule books.
BE A BAND
A band is defined as one or more humans making sounds together. Solo acts are welcome. So are groups of 47. Bring your kazoo orchestra.
BE BIZARRE
This is non-negotiable. 'Bizarre' is defined as: unusual, strange, or unexpected in a way that is striking or remarkable. If your neighbor would call the police, you're on the right track.
KEEP IT UNDER 10 MINUTES
Your set must be between 3 and 10 minutes. We love you, but we also have 20 other acts. Make every second count.
ORIGINAL MATERIAL OR CLEVERLY REARRANGED COVERS ONLY
We want YOUR bizarre vision of original music, or a COMPLETE revamp of a cover tune! Meaning an obvious musical reinterpretation or a uniquely imagined rendition of a cover tune is acceptable. Or you perform a cover on an instrument that has never been used for that purpose before. #BeBizarre
NO ACTUAL DANGER
Fire, explosives, and anything requiring a hazmat team are prohibited. Fake danger, theatrical chaos, and mild audience bewilderment are strongly encouraged.
